Trenton Polke on Working as a Team

Trenton Polke, whose alma mater is Miami University of Ohio, has worked hard and dedicatedly in the field of business for many years. As a student in Miami University’s Farmer School of Business, Trenton Polke learned the skills necessary to be successful in the business world, and even ran his own small lawn care business for a time.

Trenton Polke also knows about the importance of collaboration in any field. For Trenton Polke, if you work alongside any other person, you cannot ignore the basic principles of teamwork. Trenton Polke has put these skills into practice in his collaboration with many different people under multiple different circumstances.

For example, Trenton Polke played on a men’s ice hockey team while he was an undergraduate student. His team played games at the Goggin Ice Center at Miami University, but outside of these, Trenton Polke recalls the hard work and cooperation among all of his teammates that went into hockey practice.

Trenton Polke knows it can be tough to work as a team, because oftentimes everyone involved has different and conflicting interests and strategies. Because of this, Trenton Polke believes that everyone can get along and work together by reaching a compromise. As a strategy, Trenton Polke recommends starting with everyone on the team bringing up an idea, and then as a team, going through these different ideas to see what could work best for the situation at hand.

Working as a team, of course, is not only important when playing a sport. Trenton Polke knows that teamwork is instrumental when running a business, working with clients, collaborating with coworkers, and even working on group projects. As a student, Trenton Polke was no stranger to collaboration on projects, which also contributed to his well-preparedness for teamwork in the business world.
